Welcome to the Mid South Eye Bank!!
These pages are for anyone who is interested in donation, who may be facing corneal transplant surgery or who may desire more information about the donation process. There is also information here for physicians’ staffs who may need tissue for an upcoming transplant and who may not be familiar with the eye bank. Lastly, for anyone wishing to support a local charitable organization, the eye bank is always needy.
Our role is to be the recovery organization for corneal tissue for transplant, whole eyes for credible medical research and medical education and to promote and coordinate donor education from the eye donation perspective to persons in our area of responsibility. In offering education relative to corneal donation, we hope to dispel some of the mystery in the donation process and to assist all who may visit here with answers to any questions you may have about donation. Knowledge is truly power!!
The Mid South Eye Bank is accredited with the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA), the master accrediting agency for eye banks around the world, as a full service eye bank. We are also registered with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) as an eye bank. We are fully compliant with all the rules, regulations and standards of federal, state, local and accrediting organizations.
